Retain the full option, not just small or large
Zhonglong's current microvascular clip page includes small, 10*18 mm and large, 17*48 mm options, alongside 6.5 cm straight fully serrated and 6.5 cm curved fully serrated versions. Retain the complete catalogue option and matching image rather than ordering an unspecified number of clips. These are catalogue labels, not measurements or performance tests carried out for this guide.
A paired dimension such as 10*18 mm or 17*48 mm does not explain what each number measures. Request an annotated drawing before entering the dimensions in the order. Do not assume either number is the jaw length. Resolve differences between the page, image and confirmed documentation before settling on a model.
Keep overall length and jaw dimensions in separate fields
WPI lists instrument length, jaw dimensions and tip dimensions separately. One length is therefore not a complete dimensional description. An inquiry record can contain model, overall length, jaw length, jaw width and an annotated drawing. Mark unstated dimensions for confirmation instead of estimating them from a photograph.
- Include units: 6.0 cm is 60 mm, but a correct conversion does not establish that the measurement locations match.
- Identify whether each dimension describes the whole instrument or a particular part. Equal overall lengths do not make straight and curved models interchangeable.
- Keep the selected option's image and confirmation version; do not copy dimensions from another option on the same page.

Jaw length, usable contact length and closing force are distinct
B. Braun lists instrument length, jaw length, usable jaw length, jaw width and closing force as separate fields. Make the required fields explicit, rather than treating the full jaw profile as the usable contact segment. The reference illustrates distinctions between fields; it does not establish equivalence with a Zhonglong model.
A larger clip, a thicker-looking spring or a high-quality label does not establish closing force. If force matters to the research requirement, request the selected model's value, unit and test conditions for assessment by the research team. Record missing information as unconfirmed rather than borrowing a reference brand's figures.

Confirm shape, serrations and accompanying tools separately
Straight and curved versions labelled 6.5 cm still differ in jaw orientation. Fully serrated alone does not specify serration dimensions, closing force or tissue suitability. Request clear front, side and jaw images so the research team can review orientation, space and configuration against the approved purpose.
If the chosen model requires an applicator, confirm its model and whether it is included. Similar appearance, a shared product page or availability from the same supplier does not establish compatibility. Distinguish clips alone, clips with tools, and the number of pieces in each package.
Compare the order, label and confirmed drawing on receipt
A receiving record can have four columns: ordered specification, confirmed documentation, delivered observations and discrepancy resolution. Check the option, quantity, packaging, straight or curved form, jaw appearance and accompanying tools. Keep protective packaging where practical. Photograph visible deformation, misalignment or transport damage and contact the supplier.
Appearance and dimensional checks do not verify closing force or suitability. Agree any performance acceptance method, conditions and criteria before purchase, with checks performed by appropriate personnel. Repeatedly forcing the clip open, judging by feel or bending it yourself is not a substitute for verification or a way to correct a suspected fault.
Hand over model-specific care information
Fine Science Tools highlights contact surfaces, dry storage and tip protection in its care information. Use this to request the model's maintenance instructions, protection and storage requirements, not to assume that the purchased clip accepts a particular cleaning or sterilisation process.
Purchasing, user and storage teams should receive the same model documentation. Clarify material, surface finish, reuse requirements, packaging condition and care limitations before handover. This guide is for research-instrument purchasing and receiving; it does not prescribe clamping locations, durations, surgical steps or experimental procedures.

References and scope
The references explain general selection questions. Their product specifications do not establish the specifications, certification or performance of Zhonglong products. Confirm the actual model. This guide is not an operating protocol or a substitute for approved training.
